Cream or sugar?

I was asked to create invitations for a 'high tea' bridal shower and immediately knew that I had to find miniature tea sets to somehow include as part of the invite. This is what I found, and how I combined the two into a fun invitation that created buzz and excitement for a ladies afternoon tea party! Invitations included either a teapot (shown below) or a cup and saucer.

First bday fairy dust

When my third child turned one, life was pretty hectic. I was still adjusting to being way outnumbered, and we had just gotten a puppy. So, I created these invites in a jif that I emailed to family last minute. I had a photo of my daughter where she happened to be holding a stick – with a little digital magic I turned that stick into a glowing fairy wand for my little nymph!

rockin' 10th b-day bash

Not every day is 10.10.10. And when your 10th birthday falls on that date, it is absolutely a reason to celebrate! That's where these rock-star-worthy invitations come in. A friend who recently moved to a new home in Los Angeles wanted to have a big party to celebrate this momentous occasion for her son. Going on her clever idea to incorporate text that describes those things that come in 10s, and keeping in mind her son's desire to use his favorite colors grey/black/orange/red, I created these square invites. They are self-contained gate-fold cards, so no envelope was required. I designed the sticker that seals the invite shut, as well as matching postage. The interior invite was printed at catprint.com

The littlest acorn baby shower

This September I threw a baby shower anticipating the arrival of my niece/nephew. My brother and sister-in law did not want to find out what they were having so I went with the two bits of info that I did know; the baby would be born in the fall and the nursery was going to have a woodland theme. Going with that, I created these 'little acorn' invitations. I think they turned out beautifully. I now have a gorgeous nephew Wiley and am a proud aunt!

I even found an adorable handmade acorn cap to give them at the shower from loosethread2's shop on etsy.

2011 New Years Eve Bash

My caterer friends (leslierosencatering.com) spend the whole year throwing fabulous parties for their clients, so when New Year's rolls around, they always have an unforgettable themed NYE party for a small group of their closest friends. Leslie goes all out creating a fun and memorable evening that everyone looks forward to; and this year, the theme was diner. Here are the the invites I created for her, printed at menu size and laminated, just like a diner menu! Leslie transformed her space into a spectacular version of the diners of yesteryear with white pleather banquette booths and stainless steel tables; alas she also needed the typical paper placemats.  I designed those for her as well. Hooray for shakes and fries!
